relationship!!!!funnily more people confuse the name of a relation with relationship.and i look at them verily, smiling to myself, and shaking my head in disbelief.i remember, one sweet girl, who saw a number of rakhi in my hand, and said - how lucky....i dont have a brother to whom i can tie. i said - hey, u can tie it to me. and she refused. not that she was in love with me. but, she understood the meaning of relationship. i was her friend. nothing more. nothing less.that night i thought about what she did. it made sense. if she calls me as my husband, i wouldnt become her husband. if she calls me brother, why does society insist that yes i am her brother. the logic system is contrived to suit our needs.and the main issue that bothers two individual is the name of a relation. if i am in love with a girl, why is it that she has to be my lover. lover is a name. when i love a girl, there is more to it than the tag.when i am happy and succesful, i want her to be my friend, rejoicing with me, celebrating.when i am sad and dejected, i want her to be my mother, supporting and consoling.when i am unsure of a decision, want a long talk, i want her to be my sister/brother...talking to me, understanding mewhen i do wrong, i want her to be my father. to show anger at me, to direct me, to show me the right path.i want her to be herself, everytime i am myself.everytime i want love, i want her to love me.and everytime, i dont want to call her by a different name. becuase it really does not matter if i call her mother, father, brother, sister, lover, she simply is the girl i love. i just want her to be there for me.....whew!!!

True. Names for relationships are what we make up...in the end every relationship is unique, and to be savoured for what it is and not what it can/could/should/must be!

I must say that its true. Even if I try really hard..I cannot find a wrong in this post. I think on those same lines.

Cheers!

PS: The post would have been better without the "whew":P

no matter what we call people, the only thing that matters is what they mean to us :)

Beloved Philosopher,

Like all the philosophers of the world.. you too seem to have got lost in mere words... An artificial flower no matter how beautiful it looks or seems is an will always be artificial... It can never reveal the essence of a real flower... All philosophers make hypothetical statements... and the beauty of life lies in living it...
What's there in a thought... you can go on thinking anything you want... you can write a thesis on love, but love is not just a four lettered word.... a thirsty man can never quench his thirst by the chemical formula H2O. He will have to drink the water...

A test for you my "proclaimed- philosopher", let me see how you fare in it.. Waiting for your reply!!!

Love,
CoolDeep

dear cool deep,
ofcourse i am ready for ur challenege....tell me, how do u want me to differentiate between the chemical formula h2o and the water...
as far as i know, its the chemical formula that will help man drink water in the future.....the world's water is so contaminated....that man has put desalination plants across the world....what is the mineral water u drink....isnt it that the knowledge of h20 that has made man separate it from dirt and dust....
even water from a drainage is still water...man doesnt drink it why? because he has the knowledge that it is not pure h2o...my quest here to define what makes h20 different from drainalge water, saline water from ocean....and so on....
do tell me, ask me a definite question rather than analogies....and i promise i will answer...because its so easy to ttwist analogies, as i just did....
and yeah.....i am happy that fianlly i am making somebody think....
love

Beloved friend,
I never challenged you.. but if that's what you wish to call it then so be it...
You've already answered to my test, but yes I chose to keep the result to myself; for I have no intention of becoming a hindrance on your path to becoming a so called Philosopher.....
Well but this much I would tell you... I was thinking long before I ran across your blog deary.... else I would not have posted you a POST... Anyway... u already seem to have begun philosophizing, hypothesizing... and missing the real essence of life.. Yes in a way you make me think... :)... I have been wondering, what the people used to drink before the chemical formula H2O was even discovered... I guess not their own piss!!!!!
And what in the world are you talking about??? You have written - " my quest here to define what makes h20 different from drainalge water, saline water from ocean....and so on....".. You mean the drainage water.. isn't H2O??? And baby, animals are fine drinking those very drainage water or whatever you wish to call so.. But again your philosopher mind might say.. but they are animals dude... well according to Darwin we too are descendants of monkeys..(using your own style of analogy :) ) - but nothing happens to them.... only man gets ill by drinking those so called contaminated drain water... Y do u think such is the case??? Now I don't mean those chemically contaminated water... Even I know that animal too wont survive if they drink those chemicals.... And dude.. am from Nepal.. well in Nepal we can't afford the luxury to drink mineral water everyday.. We still drink the municipal water and we are fine with it...
Anyway that's how philosophers are... you are just a baby-philosopher now...Even the father of philosophy - Aristotle was... well.. you know what I mean...
Why talk much... Just try this little experiment whenever you can.... Write a big word O2 in a paper.. Enter a vaccuum and try breathing from it.... I swear if you can breathe oxygen from that word O2, in a vaccuum, I'll give you my life...
See you..
Love,
CoolDeep

My dear,
For you seem to be having no issues with the tag “a philosopher”, rather than describing yourself, I suppose, as a person who loves to think or philosophize or, in its etymological sense, is a lover of knowledge, and have yourself have given in to the temptation of using the words “a sweet girl”, it would be sheer delight to comment on the post.
Words, my dear, words. While we dream and think, we communicate our thoughts to others through signs, symbols and language, which constitute words. And the tags that are apparently worrying you are nothing more than words that are used to describe what you think about them.
Whatever made you think that these tags limit your concepts. In fact, these tags just give a basic idea of the whole concept, which have every scope of being widened. Does the word 'sun-set' describe everything about the beautiful sight?
Now, I have a doubt regarding you post. If I have two colleagues with the same name, with one being my room-mate, senior, glass-mate, guide and, occasionally, financier, how do I refer him while speaking to you, if not as friend, which, in that case, becomes nothing else but a tag.
But remember, he plays different roles in different situations, and I, recognizing him as a whole person and not a passing cloud, knowing well what he is for me, just try describe him to others in a word – friend. How else do you expect my family and others to know him as?
If you objection to the word lover, say so. But talking about tags? I'm not sure.
See while introducing her to your friends in a party, what will you refer to her as, after saying her name, in a word?
Remember, my dear “philosopher”, words only mediums of expressing our thoughts. They don't weaken us, but only strengthen. And the trick for that lies in the ability to chose the apt word. If not possible, then coin a new word and tell others what it stands for – don't worry all happily accept the word, as we have already accepted 'muggle'.
But don't shy away from words or 'tags', because it means you are just afraid of the idea and the tag.
By the way, has no one told you that a lover refers to the person who becomes your mother, father, sister, brother, friend and what not, when you need???

dear dear,
u r confused, as my previous reader also did, but u more than anybody else....
the fact that i have used words does not imply that i am worried because of the way the words or tags as u would say are used....
i am talking about relationships - i am talking abt how we are so narrow minded in our perception of relationship.....
so when i say why i cant call the girl i love as my sister, i am question the moral threads of society, yet remaining within the limits myself....:p
thanks for visiting my blog ....albeit under compulsion :)
